My name is Clive Young and I'm a writer based in New York City.
I've been a working journalist since 1989, and my latest book, Homemade Hollywood: Fans Behind The Camera, is due to hit stores in September, 2008. You can read about the first book, Crank It Up: Live Sound Secrets of the Top Tour Engineers, elsewhere on this site.
I keep a roof over my head, however, by working as the Senior Editor of Pro Sound News; while I've slaved over more than 150 issues at this point, these days, I spend most of my time editing the daily news website and email newsletter.
Additionally, I also do freelance writing for a variety of mainstream print- and web-based publications. Some of these include:
MTV To Go
Gig
American Songwriter
Icon Thoughtstyle
Music Business International (UK)
Goldmine
Videography
DVDWorks

EQ En Espanol
Medialine
Long Island Voice
VH1.Com
Musicplayer.com
Sonicnet.com
iPodlounge.com
...and many others.

Most of my work focuses on entertainment, media and technology, but I'm adept at human interest, humor and other genres as well. This site features a selection of my work, offering examples of my freelance writing, information about my work at PSN, and even a bit about my award-winning screenplay, Worst-Case Scenario.
When I'm not tapping away at the computer, I'm usually fussing over my wife, Michelle and our daughter, Ava; collecting old Atari 2600 video games (if you have any Atari paraphernalia for sale, drop me a line); or playing Divinyls covers in my band, C.R.A.P (Clive's Rockin' Attic Project). We actually do rock, but trust me, we will never perform anywhere ever.
If you have any questions or just want to say hello, send me email. Like most writers, I'm on the computer constantly, so you'll get a timely reply.
